Carleton University is undertaking the first nation professional and policy development conference in Canada for community media practitioners including community radio, community television, and other community online platforms, like Hunters Bay Radio.
The study involves input from community media and the public and a survey has been created asking for input from the community as well.
The survey is the first in several steps to develop more robust community media policy in the digital environment. Responses will be used to develop a policy proposal that will be debated and finalized at the Community Media Convergence conference to be held this Nov. 22-24 at Carleton University in Ottawa. Following the CMC, the proposal will be submitted to the CRTC and to other government agencies whose policies affect community media.
