Freezing rain warning in effect for:
Huntsville - Baysville
Town of Parry Sound - Burks Falls
Freezing rain beginning Sunday afternoon or evening.
A large low pressure area will bring a messy mix of precipitation to the region this weekend. Snow which is falling over parts of the region will move out this evening.
However, a more significant band of precipitation will move into the region Sunday morning, likely arriving as snow and ice pellets. The precipitation will change over to freezing rain Sunday afternoon or evening, which is expected to persist Sunday night and into Monday morning.
Ice accumulations combined with gusty northeast wind to 50 km/h may result in power outages due to fallen tree limbs and power lines.
There is uncertainty with regards to precipitation amounts and which areas will be most affected. There is potential for this to be a high impact freezing rain event, particularly Sunday night into Monday.
