Culture in Huntsville continues to earn attention at a national level, according to data released for 2017 by Culture Days Canada.
Teri Souter, Huntsville Manager of Arts, Culture and Heritage in the town said "We really owe credit for this result to the community presenters, participants and to all the volunteers, especially Pam MacKenzie who is a super-mobilizer,” said.
Huntsville and area partners presented 67 activities in 2017, and almost 6,000 people participated in the annual Culture Days event.
This level of participation puts Huntsville, Ontario in the top ten communities of all sizes across Canada. In smaller communities with populations below 50,000 people, Huntsville ranked 2nd, up one spot from their 3rd place ranking of 2016.
Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison, “I am proud of our reputation as a culture hot spot. I am continually impressed by the creativity, talent and passion of people in Huntsville.”
