Mother Of Two Air Lifted After Wrong Way Crash

On Wednesday, Police and other first responders attended a crash site on Hwy 11 that was a result of a wrong way driver.
Police say that at 7:00 pm they were notified of a vehicle travelling southbound in the northbound lanes. While enroute, a collision involving 2 vehicles had occurred, resulting with several injured persons.
Police say that a lone male driver was travelling southbound in the northbound lane and collided with a vehicle travelling northbound, carrying 2 young children. The mother driver was airlifted to a Toronto area hospital by air ambulance with life threatening injuries, her two children were brought to an Orillia area hospital with minor injuries and later discharged. The other driver was transported to an Orillia area hospital with serious injuries.
The OPP will continue to investigate this incident and are asking for anyone who witnessed this or has information regarding the circumstances they are encouraged to contact OPP.
