Scouts Celebrate Olympics

Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts from across Whispering Pines Area celebrated the Winter Olympics this past Saturday in Bracebridge, at their annual Winter Blast event. 

The day started with Scouts parading in the many flags, and two Scouters participating in a torch run and cauldron lighting. 

Shawn Forth, Third Bracebridge Scouter and one of the organizers said that “All of the Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts each represented a country.” 

Events included: sledge hockey, biathlon, broomball, snowshoeing, bowling, toboggan/ski races, and Olympic Jeopardy.

 Over 90 Scouting youth came from across the area – Bracebridge, Burks Falls, Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Midland, Orillia, Penetanguishene, and Washago.
